Life in a Day

Great concept for a film: have people around the world film what they did on July 24th, 2010 and send it in to be made into a movie. What you get is an assortment of similarities: love, fear, anger, hope, ritual...sunrise and sunset. Just another day on planet Earth! When my sister lived on the 21st floor of a big city apartment building that looked out across a green space to a couple of other apartment buildings, I had a similar sensation as I looked out. All these people stacked up in boxes, oblivious of one another yet so close, just living their lives simultaneously. Someone is writing a letter, someone else is watching TV, another is sleeping, people are fighting, eating, laughing....You are never really conscious of others just going about their lives at the same time as you and everyone else, until you actually watch them doing it. It was an interesting perspective for me.
