A Brazilian Musical Interlude

I went to a great Brazilian concert on the weekend which reminded me of Seu Jorge and Ana Caroline's wonderful rendition of Damien Rice's "Blower's Daughter". I just love it. Brazilian voices are so rich and passionate yet soothing and mellow. I find it interesting how distinct black people's voices are from white people's. I really noticed recently when my partner was watching episode after episode of "The Wire" and I was listening from another room. You can always distinguish the two; they never sound the same. Interesting. I think black voices are maybe deeper on average. Anyway, in the case of Seu and Ana, his is deep and rich with some edge, hers is low and warm, like a cello. Great combo.
